Our TV, a 20″ inch Sony Wega, was a present from Ricky Tokyo who lived with me and Joey Jerusalem for about four months in New York City. It wasn’t really a present, so much as “consideration” for rent. Anyway, we didn’t ask him for it, he just bought it for us out of the kindness of his heart.

I still remember standing on Broadway in the Financial District trying to wave down a van cab so we could fit the TV in the back. It was fall and it was getting dark. If you know way downtown New York, once it gets dark, it gets deserted and there we were - Ricky Tokyo and me - with a big ass box that screamed, “rob us.”

That was about nine years ago.

The TV has served us well but recently the colors have begun flickering. Mary Milan doesn’t mind but it’s killing me. Which explains this: the sassy, sports betting ladies at the Hot Chicks Hot Picks blog are running a contest you can win a 42″ inch flat panel plasma HDTV. All you have to do is write a post about the contest and link to their site. Now, I know nobody ever wins these contests which is why I’m not entering it even though I need a new TV…oh wait, I just did.
