After two weeks of the season, I am 1-1 in the Down with Pants! Blogger League.  In week one, behind an out of this world performance from kicker Jeff Wilkins, I downed 2 Much 411’s team 90-37. 

It felt like piling on and if I had my druthers and was a football coach in real life, I wouldn’t have run up the score.  Because that shit always comes back to bite you in the ass. Such as it did this past weekend when CineRobots took me out to the shed and whupped me 87-49 (where’s Old Glory Robot Insurance when you need it?).

Hopefully, with the karma scales rebalanced, this weekend’s coming tilt with the Red Zins will be a more evenly contested match up.  They’ve made some hot pickups this past week - most notably Brett Favre - so Redskins offensive coordinator Al Saunders is going to have to start calling plays that from his legendary playbook that get Santana Moss into the endzone in order for me to compete.  Who am I kidding?  After last week’s performance?  I’d be happy if anyone gets into the endzone this week.   

In the Fool’s league, I’m 2-0, after beating Mangini’s Manginas (from Sidley and Austin) and the BarEffers (from Blank Rome). 

My amazing “defense” has “held” my opponents to a league low 177 points but I haven’t scored a whole hell of a lot either.  This worries me.  I feel like I’m the 2000 Ravens except that outside of voodoo, my team actually has no control over how much the other team scores.  Matt Hasselbeck’s averageness is killing me.  And Steve Smith not playing is killing me too.  And the waiver wire is killing me as well.
